A 7.8 magnitude earthquake has hit Ecuador on April 16, following up by a 6.1 magnitude aftershock on April 20. Till now, the disaster has already caused over 600 deaths, 12,000 injured, as well as about 30,000 victims seeking emergency shelter.
“The earthquake has destroyed our house and everything we owned. We are so lost and helpless.” Sharmila and her family of 6 formerly settled in Nuwakot, an area in the north of Kathmandu. The 7.8 earthquake in 25th April last year took away everything they owned, leaving their home in ruins and rubbles.
The recent strong series of earthquakes affecting vast areas in Myanmar, Japan, and Ecuador have raised global concerns.
Libya has been beset by chaos since Nato-backed forces overthrew the long-serving ruler Col Muammar Gaddafi 2011. Since then the country fell into chaos from civil wars.
