Still recovering from a magnitude 7 earthquake back in 2010, Haiti is devastated by the strongest hurricane in the past decade which causes serious floods and tall waves that threatens the people’s lives and properties.

Heavy Floods in Nepal and Northern India Calls for Emergency Relief

Heavy rains and floods were reported in Nepal last week, and now the affected areas are extended to include the northern parts of India. Thirty five provinces of Nepal are experiencing floods and landslides which affected nearly 13,000 families, destroying 6,800 homes. In India, more than 2.7 million people in the northern provinces of Bihar, Assam, and West Bengal were affected by the prolonged precipitation.

Nepal floods due to heavy rain; CEDAR now stands by local relief work

15 months after the earthquake in Nepal, floods and landslides caused by heavy rain struck the country in more than half of the provinces. Till 27 July, there are already 7,900 households affected and 5,400 families displaced. CEDAR’s partner, Asal Chhimekee Nepal-Pokhara (A.C.N), are now sending emergency relief support to one of the severely hit districts, Nawalparasi.

Integral Responds to Cyclone Winston in Fiji Immediate Release

Integral Members have raised an alert for Cyclone Winston, a category 5 storm which cut a path of destruction across Fiji on 20-21 February 2016. Damage to agriculture is estimated to be US$61 million with 100 per cent of crops destroyed in the worst affected areas. With an estimated 50,000 people currently sheltering in nearly 800 evacuation centres, the Fiji government has declared a 30 day State of Natural Disaster. [Source and more info here]
