According to the Haitian Ministry of Interior, more than 19% of the Haitian population -2,1 million persons- has been affected by the hurricane and more than 12% -1,4 million persons- are in need of urgent assistance in different departments of the country. [ReliefWeb]
After years of drought, Haiti was predicted to have a good harvest this year; however, the hurricane destroyed most of the crops in affected areas. Please pray for the affected families, particularly those who are most vulnerable. Pray that they will have emergency food assistance and plenty of food supply in the coming months.

Up till now, at least 14,530 people displaced. Pray for God’s protection to them and for safe shelters.
Many roads and bridges have been destroyed, and telecommunications have been cut off in affected areas. Please pray that the most vulnerable areas will be accessible soon, so that humanitarian support can reach where it is most needed.
Some church buildings were completely collapsed after the hurricane, however, local congregations still have Sunday Service together.
Thank God for the local church, partners and other networks on the ground; over 1,500 churches and schools have opened their doors to provide shelter to vulnerable communities. Please pray that local churches continue to serve and walk with the hurricane victims on the road to recovery.
Pray for wisdom and discernment for the government and local leaders, as they decide how to respond in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
