At noon on April 25, Nepal was hit by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake – the strongest in 80 years in this poor Asian country. Powerful aftershocks followed and brought widespread devastation.

As a member of Integral Alliance (IA), CEDAR has joined IA’s emergency meeting on the day after the quake to understand the latest situation and map out the relief operation. 21 members of IA has responded jointly through our local partners in Nepal to assess the damage and needs and launched first phase relief operation. CEDAR has been working with local churches and partners to help survivors build temporary shelters and provide psychosocial support to the needed as they try to rebuild their lives.
