China is the world’s most populous country. Despite of the rapid economic development, there are still 13 percent, or 173 million people, lived below 1.25 US dollars a day, in China. The gap between urban and rural areas is huge. The wealth disparity intensifies.

In recent years, the Chinese policy has encouraged the Church participating in community service. More community social service departments under the provincial/ municipal Christian Councils have been established. The Church has more room to address to the community problems and needs.

CEDAR now is implementing community development, disaster risk reduction and church mobilisation programme in different provinces like Hubei, Yunnan, Gansu and Sichuan. Please click here to know more about our projects in China.
